Vision & Approach

Enabling Circular Economy

GPIL Films strives to conduct its business in a manner that is compatible with the balanced environmental and economic needs of the communities in which it operates. It pursues continuous efforts to understand and improve environmental performance across its operations and products, based on sound science.

In pursuing this policy, GPIL Films:

  • Encourages concern and respect for the environment, emphasizes every employee’s responsibility to environmental performance, and fosters appropriate operating practices and training.
  • Manages its business with the goal of preventing incidents and of controlling emissions and wastes to below harmful levels, designs, operates, and maintains facilities to this end.
  • Responds quickly and effectively to incidents resulting from its operations, in cooperation with industry organizations and authorized government agencies.
  • Undertakes appropriate reviews and evaluations of its operations to measure progress and to foster compliance with this policy.

Apart from providing films designed for recyclability, we follow a multi-pronged strategy to enable growth that is sustainable and inclusive. This includes green manufacturing and best energy management practices and having well-defined Environment Health & Safety systems in place.

Sustainability Position

1. GPIL Films endorses the United Nations definition of Sustainability about the need to balance the interests of economic growth, social development and environmental protection: we are operating our business in a compatible manner with this vision.

2. GPIL Films is a packaging solution company: the fundamental role of packaging is to deliver products to consumers in perfect condition. Well-designed packaging can meet this requirement with minimum environmental impact and cost using only as much of the right kind of material as necessary.

3. GPIL Films supports a science-based approach to compare and measure the environmental impact of packaging based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its full life cycle.

4. We set goals for our plants to reduce energy and water consumption, and reduce our carbon emissions. We measure, track and report our progress.
